What Nautilus Has Done For Me
After joining & quitting many gyms & aerobic classes over the years, & even exercising at home, I made the decision to join Nautilus mainly for health reasons. I needed to fight off heart disease, osteoporosis & arthritis. Looking & feeling better would be a bonus. And what a bonus it has been! It's taken a while but I finally see some results; weight loss, muscle definition, increased lung/cardio power, and I just feel better overall! I can come in dragging & stressed out from work and leave feeling on top of the world! I've made new friends and actually miss seeing them on the days I can't make it to the gym. I have such a feeling of confidence knowing I can complete a spinning class, do 40-60 minutes on the elliptical, and lift weights! And I've stuck with it for almost 3 years - a record for me. I guess the best way to describe how I feel is empowered - and that's what Nautilus has done for me!
I joined the gym in Feb of 2005. My cholesterol had gone slightly over 200 and I knew that I had to get it under control before I had a real problem.
I had never been inside a gym and felt very awkward the day I stopped by for information. Angela was so nice to me that day and said she would train me herself. It only took a few days for me to get comfortable with the equipment. Everyone was super nice and each day I saw people that I knew. I've made many new friends and am enjoying other that I once worked with.
Two months after I joined the gym, I had a physical. My cholesterol had already slipped back under 200. I feel better and there is less pain from arthritis since I'm exercising regularly. I've toned up, lost a few pounds and lost one size in pants. I'm happy with where I am and plan on staying there.

In a period of almost 2 years working out at Nautilus, I went from weighing 181 pounds at 16.4% body fat to weighing 189.4 pounds at 8.8% body fat. This includes a gain of about 20 pounds of lean muscle and a loss of about 13 pounds of fat.
My workout routine consists of strength training 3-4 days a week. I train different muscle groups on different days. I keep cardio to a minimum.
Diet and nutrition have played a big role. I try to drink about a gallon of water per day and ingest at least one gram of protein per pound of body weight. I also drink protein shakes before and after my workouts.

I joined Nautilus in Nov of 2001. I had tried several diets and exercise programs and never saw the results I wanted. Scott set me up a easy to follow routine 4 days/week and helped me improve my eating habits. After 8 months, I have reduced my body fat from 29% to 19% and lost a total of appx 16 inches. I have gone from a size 12 to an 8. Thank you Scott ... I could not have done it w/out your help!
